Share and business valuations
We value businesses of all sizes and shapes. We provide opinions for Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR), contested hearings, mediation and also in commercial disputes.
We have experience on valuing and advising businesses in a breadth of sectors including manufacturing, retail, construction, farming, property investment, technology, financial services, hospitality, leisure and health.
On each assignment we will consider the appropriate methodology(ies) and explain how we arrive at our valuation opinion. Typical valuation methodologies adopted are based on capitalized future maintainable earnings (adjusted EBITDA), net assets or discounted cash flow.
We will review market data and industry trends to inform our opinion.
As well as acting as Single Joint Expert, we can assist as Shadow Adviser, giving a view on another expert’s report and assisting with questions and informing counsel.
Liquidity reviews
We understand the importance of assessing available funds and liquidity in matrimonial (divorce) cases.
Income assessment
We will consider the past business performance and any projections to estimate future maintainable earnings for the parties.
Capital gains tax calculations
We can prepare capital gains tax calculations as Single Joint Expert on the business assets of the parties and on any property or investment portfolios.
Form E review
As Shadow Adviser, we can review the Form E disclosure and provide input on areas where greater disclosure should be considered and a preliminary view on business valuation.
Investigations
As Single Joint Expert, Party Adviser or Shadow Adviser we can undertake detailed investigations on personal bank accounts, company records and groups of entities. This work can include asset tracing and unravelling complex series of transaction to provide a transparent financial picture.
